Personal Approach
Mary believes therapy should feel safe, welcoming, and supportive. From the beginning, she works to create an environment where you can feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself.
Her style is soft, caring, and down-to-earth while also being honest and direct. Mary will gently challenge you to consider new perspectives and recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while making sure you feel understood throughout the process.
Mary believes you should never feel pressured to share more than you are ready for. Your comfort and emotional safety are important, and the pace of therapy can be adjusted as your needs change.
Treatment Philosophy
During the first session, Mary focuses on getting to know you and understanding your experiences, concerns, and reasons for seeking therapy. She uses open-ended questions to create space for you to share your story in your own way.
Together, you will identify goals for change that reflect your values, needs, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Mary will also discuss potential treatment approaches and what future sessions may look like so you have a clear sense of structure and expectations.
Mary's treatment philosophy is collaborative and trauma-informed. She believes meaningful growth happens when clients feel both supported and empowered to make changes. Whether you're working through past trauma, navigating a major life transition, or trying to feel more connected to yourself and your relationships, Mary will meet you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be.
