Personal Approach

Angie is mindful of the therapeutic relationship, the present moment, and balancing client autonomy and attachment-based connection. She provides support around experiencing emotions that may be otherwise difficult to approach, rather than just talking about them from an intellectual perspective. She offers creative ways to explore and support her client's internal world. She believes in the power of therapy because she has personally been deeply impacted and supported in this context. She continues to lean into healing, personal growth, and professional creativity to stretch her capacity to engage with the world in meaningful and sustainable ways.

Treatment Philosophy

Angie believes our systems can heal when they are safe enough to do so. Her goal in counseling is to pay attention to the balance of dealing with what is current and healing from what has happened and is over. She believes that slowing down to gain a deep understanding of the internal experience can guide decision-making in a more aligned way than moving through life with thoughts and actions unexamined.

Angie maintains a holistic view of the human experience, remembering that many things can affect the way we experience the present moment, including our blood sugar, hormones, sleep, stress levels, trauma, etc. While Angie is trained to an extent to identify issues and refer to specialists regarding physical health, her primary goal is to support you in ways that honor your capacity, autonomy, and preferences- which she believes is critical to treating people with dignity and respect.
